Looks: He, like all members of his clan, possessed dark grey eyes, and also had black hair that hung near his cheeks to frame his face. He also had the addition of a long ponytail in the back of his hair (which he obscured with his Akatsuki cloak after joining the organization). Being brothers, Itachi and Sasuke had a similar appearance, but with subtle differences. Itachi's hair color appeared slightly duller and with a softer flow to it, without the spiky style at the back. His skin was also slightly darker. Itachi's most distinguishing characteristics were the long pronounced creases under his eyes.
Personality: Itachi had always been mysterious, and had acted as though he was hiding his true self. While flashbacks to his past showed that he was a compassionate brother and person, his later acts and claims made it seem that this was mostly just an act. But, surprisingly, he genuinely was the compassionate brother he had once claimed to be, although he hid this from the rest of the Akatsuki to protect Sasuke.
As a member of Akatsuki, he possessed incredible self-control of his emotions. He constantly displayed an emotionless personality. He only showed surprise when opponents proved more powerful or skilled than he had expected, and even then he didn't lose his composure. He did not possess any arrogance, and fully justified any statements he made about his power, even complimenting his opponents at times on their abilities.

Sharingan: Being a member of the Uchiha clan Itachi was gifted with his clan Kekkei Genkai and as noted by Kakashi, Itachi was a true successor of the Sharingan Eye.From a stationary position, he would study an opponent's movements with his Sharingan and respond accordingly.Itachi had trained so much with his eyes that he had reached the stage where he could have his Sharingan activated all the time, with minimal drain on his chakra levels.
Fire: Being an Uchiha, Itachi is greatly skilled in fire, using it more than any other element and one of his signature moves, Amaterasu, basing itself upon katon (technically is blaze element but comes from fire).
Genjutsu: Even for an Uchiha, even for a master of the sharingan, Itachi’s prowess with genjutsu is well above average. Itachi often fights entire battles using only genjutsu.
Clones: Itachi is perhaps more skilled in clones than Naruto Uzumaki, the most renowned for his usage of the Shadow Clone Jutsu. Itachi often uses clones so fluently and with such perfect timing, that it is difficult some times to tell which is the real him and which is the imposter. Itachi uses both tangible and intangible clones, and was the first to use the Shadow Clone Explosion jutsu.
Taijutsu: Itachi is very skilled in taijutsu. At least twice he has blocked Chidori simply by grabbing the wrist of his opponent. His skill in taijutsu could possibly be due to being a former member of the Anbu Black Ops.

Background Info.
History: The young Uchiha Itachi was a skilled prodigy of Leaf Village. He graduated the Ninja Academy at age 7 and passed the Chuunin Exam at age 10. By age 13 Itachi had become a captain in the special ANBU squad. During his youth Itachi looked out for his younger brother Sasuke and encouraged him to train and grow. Sasuke looked up to Itachi and saw his brother grow distant over time. During this time Itachi had come under the tutelage of Uchiha Madara, a legendary Uchiha clan member. Madara and his brother were the first to attain the Mangekyou Sharingan. Itachi learned that to obtain Mangekyou, clan members would kill their best friends. Because Mangekyou usage leads to blindness, to avoid the side effect the Mangekyou user could kill their sibling and take their Mangekyou eyes to obtain "Eternal" Mangekyou. This version of the Mangekyou would never lead to blindness. With this in mind, Itachi's view of his clan and their power began to change.Itachi began to express that his clan was not using their gifts to their fullest capacity. To test his potential he secretly killed his best friend Shisui, which granted him the Mangekyou. Detectives from the Uchiha Police Corps questioned Itachi about Shisui's death but Itachi pleaded innocent; however he did let the detectives and his father know of his distaste for the clan's methods. A short time later Itachi and Madara moved to kill the rest of the clan. How much of the plan was Madara's idea or Itachi's own is unclear. One night Madara and Itachi began to take out the Uchiha. While Itachi himself stood over the body of his slain parents, Sasuke arrived to see the horrible scene. Itachi let Sasuke know that he could also gain the Mangekyou. Itachi hoped the massacre would drive Sasuke to his absolute limits and obtain Mangekyou as well. Sasuke would thus be Itachi's spare, a vessel to eventually provide him with "Eternal" Mangekyou. Itachi then directed Sasuke to a secret scroll which explained the final power of the Sharingan.
After wiping out his clan, Itachi fled Leaf and joined the Akatsuki Organization. Itachi was directed to help recruit a new potential member, Deidara. Together with Hoshigaki Kisame and Sasori, the trio tracked down Deidara and asked him to join the group. Deidara said he wanted nothing to do with them, so Itachi stated that if he defeated Deidara in battle, he would have to join. Deidara launched explosive animals to attack but quickly learned that he had made no such moves. The power of Itachi's Sharingan Genjutsu had overwhelmed Deidara so he relented. Deidara would carry his hatred for the Uchiha's Sharingan forever afterwards. Some time later, Orochimaru approached Itachi in the hopes of taking over his body for his own. Itachi's Sharingan proved too much for Orochimaru as well, binding him in place. Itachi then cut off Orochimaru's arm, causing the Leaf Sannin to flee and leave the group.

Looks:Hidan has medium length silver hair slicked back with distinctive pinkish-purple eyes. He wears his Akatsuki cloak open with no shirt, only pants under it revealing his Yugakure forehead protector around his neck and Jashin amulet. He wears dark green nail polish and his Akatsuki ring on his left index finger, which bears the kanji for Three (三, san). He is always seen with his Triple-Bladed Scythe on his back.
Personality:Hidan was one of the most foul-mouthed, disrespectful characters in the series; he frequently swore and complained at allies and opponents alike. He rarely used honorifics when speaking, and, even then, usually as a form of sarcasm. He was the only member of Akatsuki who did not respect their leader, Pain, and openly declared his willingness to kill him around others. The only respect he ever seemed to give was to his god, and, even then, he was quite willing to use his name as an insult. He openly held his partner, Kakuzu, in contempt for his habit of blasphemy, love of money, and Kakuzu's frequent ridicule of Hidan's religion and battle style. Despite this, whenever Hidan was in the mood to kill, the two worked together flawlessly in battle, and one can infer that he did care somewhat for his partner, from his panicked reaction when he almost killed Kakuzu while being possessed by Shikamaru's technique.
Hidan had absolutely no moral restraints regarding the people he killed; he considered slaughter a religious calling, and often took considerable pleasure in making his opponents' deaths as painful as possible. Given the requirements of his voodoo-like curse ritual, he was quite willing to inflict pain and injuries on himself, and openly relished the shared pain between him and the cursed victim.Hidan's behavior in the anime bordered on insanity; he was frequently heard shrieking loudly while attacking, and laughed maniacally
